Demonstrate your organisation's commitment to ethical, science-based practice. Charter membership is a mark of professional integrity in an unregulated industry.

Membership types

Charter membership operates on an organisation basis. Training and behaviour organisations that accredit professionals can apply as a Standard Member Organisation; other bodies that wish to formally support The Charter can apply as a Supporting Organisation. Individuals cannot join The Charter directly.

Standard Member Organisation

For training or behaviour organisations that accredit professionals and provide ongoing membership, and whose methodology and ethics align with The Charter.

  • Accredits and oversees your own individual practitioners
  • Featured on our course providers page
£300 / year
Organisation

Supporting Organisation

For veterinary practices, rescue organisations, and other bodies that wish to formally support The Charter's standards and signpost clients to Charter Member Organisations.

  • Listed as a Supporting Organisation
  • Use of Charter Supporter badge
  • Promotional materials and resources
  • Invitation to annual Charter events
£250 / year

These fees apply at organisation level only. Individual trainers and behaviourists who belong to a Standard Member Organisation pay nothing to The Charter directly, and can display the Charter Member logo on their own website and promotional materials once their organisation is approved.

Submit your application

Complete your application referencing the membership criteria document, and email us your supporting evidence.

Await verification

We verify your credentials and you'll receive a decision by email.
